Hailyn saw her pediatrician this week, we got good and bad news. the best news was that hailyn finally hits the growth chart! she's only in the 3rd percentile but at least she's finally on the chart! we had to do a whole mess of developmental tests on her, she did great on the "problem solving" section, but she lacks any fine motor skills or communication skills and her gross motor skills are very far behind. most of that is due to her poor muscle tone and just not having the strength to do everything. the bad news that we got was that she's showing signs of having more nuerological issues then we originally thought. while she has out grown her seizures, she has developed more social-nuerological behavioral problems. the doc didnt say much about it, and its something that we wont know the extent to until she's a little older, but she will have to head back to the nuerologist in the next couple of weeks. its nothing to worry about, just something we're going to have to deal with. overall she got a good report and is doing well! she can now stand up on her own without holding on to anything, its a very big production every time she does it! its very cute! we also had a little set back with getting her leg braces. tricare decided they werent going to cover them and they're about $1200! we were very lucky though, our case manager down at the naval hospital on pendleton helped us get a grant through the semper fi fund, who were very generous with us! we are so blessed! so hailyn will be getting her braces in a week or two! i bet within a week of wearing them she'll take off running!!
the rest of us are doing great, eric was awarded two medals! the Naval Achievment medal and the Good Conduct medal. we're so proud of him! we're getting very excited that he's reaching the end of his deployment, we cant wait to have him back!
i'm doing pretty good too, still having lots of problems with my back but what can ya do. Phenix is continuing to grow and grow so thats great news! =]
