Hailyn saw the gentisist wednesday. it wasnt as helpful as id thought. she was so preoccupied with hailyns weightlessness that it was hard to concentrate on anything else. she did a few labs and hailyn will need to see an endochronologist *hormone doctor* to have her pituitary glad and hormone levels assessed. her blood levels as far as calcium, vitamins, sodium, etc were abnormal, but not abnormal enough to give us any answers which is why the endochronologist will be so important. we're definetly looking to small statured issues right now as she has not grown in length since 6 weeks of age. she may have a mitochondrial proportionate, rare form of dwarfism. it will take a long time to confirm, but its something we've already assumed and there for we're prepared for it. today we saw her pediatrician & hailyn will be seeing a dietician every 2 weeks until she packs on a decent amount of weight. we saw her dietician today and she's very nice, we're able to tweak her diet enough to add an extra 50 or so calories per day without adding volume so thats great!! shes already up to 10.15 which is a full pound since we were in wisconsin which is wonderful!! over all the consensus was 'hailyns not normal but shes not dying either' so our main goal right now is to pack on some weight, then we will begin looking into syndromes. she is extra smiley, and having fun playing with toys as we speak! happy to be home for sure!
